This auction is for: Here's a very rare and desireable GENUINE 1795 Flowing Hair Dollar in sharp Very Fine condition, as defined in the latest edition of the Official ANA Grading Guide. This is the scarcer 2 leaf variety and is much more difficult to find by a ratio of about 5 to 1 according to the population guides. It is a fairly attractive piece, with a deep steel gray patina and smooth clean surfaces. The details are sharp for the grade. It has a few light circulation marks and a light planchet flaw at the right of the ribbon reverse as seen in the photos, but nothing out of the ordinary for the grade. There are no bad scratches or rim bumps or other problems that typically plague these big old silver coins. The date and lettering are sharp and bold and it has good detail for the grade assigned. The edge is sharp and clean with a couple of tiny ticks but no damage or problems. It may have been cleaned some time in the distant past, as most of these old coins were, but looks nice to the eye and shows no signs of a harsh cleaning or damage, just a decent looking specimen of a very scarce early dollar. I don't think it will be long before these are well over ten thousand dollars in VF, and this is a nice VF. And please be sure to check out the others I have listed currently! These early dates are becoming very difficult to locate now in any grade and almost impossible to find in this grade without shelling out two times what the price guides list it at. Look these up on CCE and you'll see what a bargain it is at my asking price! I bought this a while back at lower levels so I can afford to give the lucky buyer a nice break on it. It seems to me that the very people they claim to be protecting are the ones most likely to be ripped off when buying their slabs!
