Great affordable early cent.  Solid G6.  According to Q. David Bowers, author of the book "A Guide Book of United States Type Coins", only 2000-3000 are thought to still be in existance.  Walter Breen, author of "Walter Breen's Encyclopedia of United States Large Cents1793-1814", states that between 2400 and 2800 still exist in all grades. 1793 Wreath Cents fall into two categories.  Vines and Bars edge, and Lettered edge.  Lettered edge is the rarer of the two.  Most Wreath Cents were crudely struck with scrap copper or defective planchets.  Therefore most appear to have grainy or porous surfaces.
