Description
danesden2000 Store 1776 PIECE OF EIGHT SPANISH BUST PESO EIGHT REALES -WOW 1776 PIECE OF EIGHTEIGHT REALE aka: SPANISH BUST PESO $The Spanish Bust Peso Eight Reales (also known as the Piece of Eight) was one of the first coins circulated during and prior to the formation of America, when our 13 colonies were in their infancy. They were struck during the era of the American Revolution and these Spanish dollars were the first silver dollars used and accepted as payment in the American colonies. They were the preferred coins in the young American nation even after the first U.S. dollar was struck in 1794. The coin has a portrait of Carolus III on the Obverse (1759-1788) and the legend's "Del Gratia" means "by the grace of God". On reverse are the "Pillars of Hercules" and a crowned shield with lions and castles. Reverse words are: Hispan . Et . Ind . Rex . M . 8R . F . M . These circulated throughout or early colonies. They were often chopped in half or quarters for "smaller" change.$The coin you are buying is the actual coin shown. It is 38mm wide, 2.1mm thick, is non-magnetic, and weighs 17.7 grams. The coin does not have any indication of being a copy, replica, restrike, reproduction, but the information I have gathered indicated it is. Anyhow, that is why I took the time to measure and weigh it; so you, the bidder, may determine its value based upon qualities I indicated above. I have never had it graded, checked for silver content or authenticated in any manner so keep this in mind when bidding. I have many pictures to help you determine the value of this coin. $ I PURCHASED AN ENTIRE ESTATE FROM A RECENTLY PASSED AWAY ANTIQUES DEALER. THESE, ALONG WITH MANY OTHER COINS BEHIND HIS COUNTER/DISPLAY IN A LARGE 3' BY 6' VAULT/SAFE. I BUY ANTIQUES AND THE COINS WERE IN HIS ESTATE AND WERE INCLUDED IN MY ANTIQUES PURCHASE. THERE WERE A FEW OF THESE, AS WELL AS A FEW OTHER EARLY COLONIAL COINS, PLUS MANY BU COINS, AND REPLICA COINS. ALL WILL BE LISTED PERIODICALLY. AGAIN, THOUGH THERE IS NO WORD COPY OR ANY OTHER SUCH WORDING, I BELIEVE THIS IS A COPY; BUT HAVE NOT DONE RESEARCH ON WEIGHT, DIMENSIONS ECT. SO I LEAVE THAT TO YOU THE BUYER.$100% guarantee: If item is not as seller described, a full purchase price refund will be given and the item may be returned to seller provided buyer pays shipping to seller and such shipping requires delivery confirmation.$IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING COMBINED SHIPPING WITH THIS ITEM AND OTHER ITEMS I HAVE FOR SALE, PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE YOU BID$BE AWARE: SHIPPING COSTS, IN SOME CASES AND SUCH AS IN THIS AUCTION, ARE HIGH TO COVER COSTS OF PACKAGING AND HANDLING AS WELL AS ADDITIONAL PROFIT.
