Struck there and dated 1708 during the time of Archbishop Johann Hugo von Orsbeck who ruled from 1676 until 1711. This coin may or may not have circulated in colonial America, but ones like it certainly did. It would have been well received current money in any area of America. Weight: 2.44 Gram, 22 Millimeter, Silver. The G G stand for Gerhardt Godt, Mintmaster from 1698 until 1734.   Reverse: CHVR • TR • LANDMVNZ • Church of Trier Land Money – Bishop’s Hat above Shield of Arms, before crossed Sword and Crosier. Date 17 08 Divided by Shield.   Edge: Normal for the issue, no problems.  The Coin: A nice example, the imagery is well conceived and executed. The coin saw some use and carries a few marks but all the devices are nice and clear. Totally original, never cleaned or played with, a very desirable piece overall.
