This recent consignment is definitely the biggest, heaviest pile of coins I have ever seen in my career. Oh my goodness gracious! There were so many floor to ceiling safes covering so many square feet of vaults I was too overwhelmed by the magnitude of the pile, to even bother counting the safes. We are talking less than 100 but over 20. This coin collection was even bigger than a prominent Mississippi bank owner’s holdings that I looked at with a team of numismatists in 1985. This collection was bigger than one I liquidated in the 1980's on the banks of the Yazoo River in a private vault in an old 10,000 square foot opera house converted to a private office. I remember that deal like it was yesterday because I was in the private vault counting when the power went out for a few hours one afternoon. This deal is hundreds of times heavier!
